An NDR electrician installing a ceiling-mounted light from a scaffold in a gym

Cooktop installation. Gold Coast.

Plan the installation before the new cooktop arrives.

Replacing an electric cooktop or planning an induction upgrade? NDR helps you understand the electrical work your kitchen needs and prepares a free quote.

A new cooktop.
A kitchen that is ready.

Choosing the cooktop is only part of the job. Its size, installation instructions and electrical requirements need to suit the kitchen. Whether the old unit has stopped working or you are planning a renovation, checking those details early helps you make an informed purchase.

NDR installs electric cooktops, including suitable induction models, for Gold Coast properties. Tell us whether you are replacing an existing electric appliance or adding a cooktop in a new position. We can assess the proposed appliance and the electrical work needed at your property.

Send the model number or product link before you buy if you would like the installation considered first. Include photos of the current cooktop, the kitchen and the switchboard if readily accessible. You do not need to remove equipment or covers to make an enquiry.

Check the fit
and the electrical requirements.

A cooktop's advertised width is not the complete installation brief. The manufacturer's specified benchtop opening, surrounding clearances and space below the appliance matter too. Share the product installation guide and any kitchen drawings so the electrical work can be considered alongside the cabinet and benchtop plan.

The proposed model also needs a suitable circuit and electrical supply. An induction upgrade does not automatically require a switchboard replacement, and an existing circuit should not be assumed suitable without assessment. NDR can explain any electrical changes required for the model you choose.

Separate the appliance purchase, electrical installation and any cabinet or benchtop alterations when comparing quotes. Tell us what is already arranged and what you still need help defining. If your existing appliance uses gas, identify that upfront so gas-related work can be scoped separately with an appropriate provider.

Excellent pricing, high-quality workmanship, and a very efficient installation. The entire team was professional and friendly—from the office staff through to the tradesmen and even the youngest apprentice. Communication was excellent throughout the process, the work was completed to a very high standard, and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. I couldn’t be happier with the result and would highly recommend them.

A few questions,
before you book.

Plan your appliance purchase, installation scope and kitchen preparation.

Do I need a switchboard upgrade?

If your switchboard is outdated, overloaded or unable to support additional electrical equipment, an upgrade may be recommended. We can inspect and advise.

Can you supply and install equipment, or install customer-supplied products?

We recommend supplying and installing our own equipment to ensure quality, compatibility and full warranty support. We may install customer-supplied products on a case-by-case basis, subject to suitability, compliance and warranty conditions. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the supplier or manufacturer.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes! We offer free, no-obligation quotes across all our services, including electrical, solar, battery and EV charging.

How much does electric cooktop installation cost?

The cost depends on the appliance, existing circuit, cable access and whether the new unit suits the current opening. A replacement in the same position may differ substantially from a kitchen redesign. Send the model and property details for a quote that identifies the electrical work and any separate preparation needed.

Can you install an induction cooktop?

NDR can assess and install a suitable electric induction cooktop. Provide the exact model before booking, as electrical requirements and physical dimensions differ. The team will consider the existing supply and installation requirements rather than assuming every induction appliance can use the same connection.

Will my new cooktop fit the existing benchtop opening?

Compare the proposed model's installation dimensions with the existing opening and cabinetry. A similar external width does not guarantee the same cut-out. Share the installation guide and any available dimensions. If cabinet or benchtop changes are required, have that scope clarified before the installation is booked.

Does the quote include disposal of the old cooktop?

Tell us if you need the existing appliance removed from the property and ask for that requirement to be included in the scope. Do not assume disposal or cabinet alterations are included in an electrical installation quote. Making those details clear helps you compare the complete job.

What if I am replacing a gas cooktop?

Tell NDR about the current gas appliance at the start. This page covers the electrical installation of the replacement electric cooktop. Gas disconnection and any gas-system alterations need to be arranged with an appropriately qualified provider and considered in the timing of the project.
