Data cabling & network points. Gold Coast.

Put a wired connection where you need it.

Plan network points for your home office, entertainment area or business, with the cable route and equipment considered before installation.

Need a network point
closer to your equipment?

A desk at the far end of the house or a television on the opposite wall from the router can make the existing network layout awkward. Fixed devices can use Ethernet cabling to connect to the local network, while phones and other portable devices continue using Wi-Fi.

NDR provides data cabling and network point installation for Gold Coast properties. Tell us which rooms need a connection, what equipment will use it and where your current router or network equipment sits. The number of points and available cable routes help define the installation.

For a renovation or office change, include data points in the room plan alongside power outlets. For an existing room, describe the proposed location and any access limitations.

Plan both ends
of each connection.

A new wall socket needs an appropriate cable route back to the relevant network equipment. Mark both ends on a sketch or floor plan. Include the number of desks, televisions or other fixed devices you want connected, plus any locations you want considered for future use.

Ethernet can help with local connection performance, but the internet plan, router and connected devices also affect the experience. If the issue is dropouts or poor speed, explain where it happens and whether it affects wired devices, wireless devices or both. That helps avoid assuming new cabling alone will resolve it.

Ask what is included in the cabling scope and what equipment you will need to supply. If you already have a router, switch or other network hardware, send the model details before buying additional equipment.

Excellent pricing, high-quality workmanship, and a very efficient installation. The entire team was professional and friendly—from the office staff through to the tradesmen and even the youngest apprentice. Communication was excellent throughout the process, the work was completed to a very high standard, and everything was left clean and tidy afterwards. I couldn’t be happier with the result and would highly recommend them.

A few questions,
before you book.

Plan point locations, understand installation costs and distinguish internal cabling from your internet service.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes! We offer free, no-obligation quotes across all our services, including electrical, solar, battery and EV charging.

Can you supply and install equipment, or install customer-supplied products?

We recommend supplying and installing our own equipment to ensure quality, compatibility and full warranty support. We may install customer-supplied products on a case-by-case basis, subject to suitability, compliance and warranty conditions. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the supplier or manufacturer.

Will a data point make my internet faster?

A wired connection can improve the connection between a device and the local network, particularly where Wi-Fi coverage is limited. It does not increase the speed of your internet plan. The router, device and service connection also matter, so describe the problem as well as the point you want installed.

What is the difference between a data point and a power point?

A data point provides a connection for network cabling; a power point supplies electricity. A desk or television location may need both. Include each requirement on the room plan so the proposed layout considers where equipment connects and where it receives power.

How much does data cabling installation cost?

The number of points, distance between locations, access through walls or ceilings and existing cabling affect the work. A single room and a multi-workstation office will have different scopes. Send a layout with the proposed points and network-equipment location so NDR can work towards a quote.

Can I add network points to an existing property?

Contact NDR with the rooms and locations you want connected. The team can assess available routes and access before confirming the proposed work. Tell us if the property is an apartment, has limited ceiling access or has recently finished walls that need special consideration.

Do I need a registered cabler for fixed data wiring?

ACMA advises using a registered cabler for phone and internet wiring in your home or office. Fixed cabling work should be assessed for the relevant registration requirements. Ask about the cabling work and documentation included when confirming your installation.

What should I send to request a quote?

Include your suburb, the number of proposed network points, the rooms involved and the current router location. A floor plan and photos of visible outlets can help. For a business, add the number of workstations, your access arrangements and preferred timing.
