More lights are not always the answer to a dark kitchen or an uncomfortable living room. Where the light falls, what you use the space for and how you control it all matter. A useful lighting plan starts with the parts of the room that are working poorly.
NDR installs downlights and other LED lighting, including replacements and new positions. We can consider the existing fittings, ceiling access and controls alongside the layout you want. For a renovation, bring your room plan and identify benches, desks, seating and other places that need attention.
If you are replacing older lights, list the rooms and approximate quantities. Tell us whether the problem is poor brightness, inconsistent colour, flickering or a layout that no longer suits. That helps define whether the job is a fitting replacement, a change in position or a wider lighting update.

Think about the difference between lighting the room and lighting a task. A kitchen bench, desk or reading chair may need attention even when the ceiling already has several lights. For an open living area, separate switching can help you use different parts of the space without turning everything on.
Compare the light output and colour appearance of proposed fittings, and tell us whether you want a warmer or cooler look. If dimming matters, flag it at the start. The LED fitting, driver where applicable and dimmer need to work together; keeping an existing control is not automatically the right option.
New holes, existing ceiling openings, access and cable routes can change the installation scope. Photos and fitting counts help with your enquiry. If moving lights leaves ceiling repairs or painting to organise, ask for those responsibilities to be clear before work starts.

I have had Nathan provide me a quote for some new fans. We were looking for a larger outdoor 120. Inch fan he happily took the time to find exactly what we wanted and provided a very detailed quote. Downlight quantities, replacement options and the factors behind your lighting quote.
Do you install ceiling fans, power points and lighting?
Absolutely! We install and replace ceiling fans, power points, switches, lighting and a wide range of residential and commercial electrical fixtures.
Can you install LED strip lighting?
Yes! We install LED strip lighting for kitchens, cabinetry, feature walls, outdoor areas and commercial spaces, including smart and colour-changing options.
Can you supply and install equipment, or install customer-supplied products?
We recommend supplying and installing our own equipment to ensure quality, compatibility and full warranty support. We may install customer-supplied products on a case-by-case basis, subject to suitability, compliance and warranty conditions. Product warranties remain the responsibility of the supplier or manufacturer.
How much does downlight installation cost?
The number and type of fittings, existing openings, ceiling access, wiring and controls all affect the quote. Replacing lights in the same positions is different from adding a new layout. Send approximate quantities and room photos, and tell us whether you want dimming, so the electrical scope can be assessed.
How many downlights do I need?
There is no single number that suits every room. The size and shape of the space, the chosen fittings and the activities below them all matter. Describe where the room feels too dark or too bright, and share a plan if you have one. NDR can then discuss a suitable arrangement.
Can existing halogen downlights be upgraded to LED?
LED replacement options can be assessed, including the fitting, opening and existing controls. A replacement lamp and a complete new fitting involve different choices, so send photos or model details if available. Tell us if you want to keep dimming or change the appearance of the light.
Will LED downlights work with my current dimmer?
That needs checking against the proposed products. Some existing controls may not suit the replacement LED fittings. Let NDR know about any dimmers, flickering or limited dimming range when you enquire, so the control and fitting combination can be considered in the quote.
What if I want pendant lights as well as downlights?
Include both in the room plan. Pendants may provide a focal point above a table or island, while downlights and task lighting serve other parts of the space. Share the furniture positions and any selected products so the lighting layout and switching can be planned together.
